Akothee Hits Back at Critics Over Outfit Worn With Luo Leaders

Singer and entrepreneur Akothee has hit back at critics who accused her of disrespecting Luo leaders after she appeared alongside them in an outfit that exposed her long legs.

The outspoken entertainer addressed the criticism in a Facebook post, using her trademark humour to defend her choice of dressing and dismiss calls for an apology.

Akothee Explains Her Outfit Choice

Akothee explained that she had spent the day carrying out an official assignment before handing over the completed project to Homa Bay Governor Gladys Wanga, who had appointed her to the task.

After completing her official duties, she said she turned her attention to enjoying herself and saw no reason why her choice of outfit should become a public controversy.

“There was no memo saying, ‘Akothee, kindly report to nightlife wearing a bedsheet,’” she joked.

‘There Was NO DRESS CODE’

The singer insisted that there had been no specific dress code governing what she could wear.

“There was NO DRESS CODE, so I dressed MY BODY — the same body God gave me, including these long legs that have apparently now become a county emergency,” she said.

Akothee also urged her critics to distinguish between her official responsibilities and her life as an entertainer.

“Please learn to separate Madam Boss on duty from Madam Boss after working hours,” she said.

Her remarks came after some critics questioned whether she should have maintained a more conservative appearance while in the company of political leaders.

Akothee Rejects Calls for Apology

Akothee also dismissed claims that her outfit was inappropriate and made it clear that she did not believe she had done anything requiring an apology.

“Apology? FORGET IT! I did my job. I handed over. Then I became AKOTHEE THE ENTERTAINER,” she stated.

The entertainer concluded her response by signing off as “AKOTHEE THE GREAT”, maintaining that her choice of outfit was a personal decision and that criticism would not dictate how she dresses after completing her official duties.
