KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 18 — The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a warning of thunderstorms, heavy rain and strong winds in 10 states until 5pm today.

It said in a statement that the adverse weather is forecast to affect the whole of Kelantan and Perlis, as well as Langkawi, Kubang Pasu, Kota Setar, Baling, Sik, Padang Terap, Pokok Sena and Pendang in Kedah; and Hulu Perak in Perak.

Similar weather conditions are also forecast in Besut and Setiu in Terengganu; Cameron Highlands, Lipis, Raub, Bentong, Pekan and Rompin in Pahang; Hulu Selangor, Gombak and Hulu Langat in Selangor; Jelebu, Seremban, Port Dickson, Kuala Pilah and Rembau in Negeri Sembilan; and Alor Gajah and Melaka Tengah in Melaka.

In Sabah, the affected areas are the West Coast, the Interior (Tambunan, Keningau, Sook, Pensiangan, Membakut and Tenom), Sandakan (Tongod, Telupid and Paitan), and Kudat (Kota Marudu and Pitas). — Bernama
