Construction worker dies in fall from 25th floor of building

A Myanmar construction worker died after allegedly falling from the 25th floor of a condominium under construction at Lorong Perak, Jelutong, here yesterday.

Timur Laut police chief Abdul Rozak Muhammad said police received a report on the incident at 6.50pm. The 31-year-old victim was found on the 20th floor of the building.

“The victim was a construction worker who was installing boards on the 25th floor when the incident occurred.

“He is believed to have fallen from the 25th floor. An examination of the body and the scene found no elements of foul play,” he said in a statement today.

Rozak said the victim’s body was sent to Penang Hospital for a post-mortem, while a sudden death report has been opened to facilitate further investigations.
