This year has already seen some phenomenal pieces of television, and Netflix is no stranger to following suit. Indeed, despite there only being three more months in 2026, the streaming platform has no shortage of upcoming shows. It's merely a matter of how some arrive with considerably more anticipation than others. A few have enormous built-in audiences returning for another season, while others are adaptations of new projects that have attracted attention through their creative team.
And with so many shows fighting for our eyes and ears, the wait for some of these Netflix shows can feel considerably longer than the actual gap between seasons. So, whether the shows have already proven their worth as bingeable hits, or are facing the difficult task of putting a fresh spin on already beloved IP, here are the upcoming projects we're most excited about.
6 'The Hunting Wives' (2025–Present)
Season 2 - November 26, 2026
The end of 2026 will see The Hunting Wives return to Maple Brook, Texas, after the bloody events of the first season left Sophie (Brittany Snow) and Margo (Malin Akerman) on very different sides of the law. Divided by lies and deceit, the two women are likely to remain estranged in this new season. But old secrets and new enemies may loom, forcing them back into each other's orbit.
It's no surprise that the first season took the world by storm. For one, it was the exact kind of messy thriller that begged to be binged. The combination of sex, murder, scandal, and wealthy socialites behaving terribly gave The Hunting Wives plenty of opportunities to go completely off the rails. And season 2 looks ready to turn the chaos up to another notch, with Netflix already teasing more conspiracies and betrayal. Plus, Snow and Akerman are set to return, meaning that the show's most combustible relationship is back at the center of the action.
5 'Pride and Prejudice' (2026)
December 3, 2026
Jane Austen's Pride and Prejudice is getting another reiteration in this six-part adaptation. In this, audiences will once again follow Elizabeth Bennet (Emma Corrin), who finds herself at odds with the wealthy and seemingly aloof Mr. Darcy (Jack Lowden), as her family navigates the pressures of marriage, money, and 19th century social expectations.
There's perhaps no safer bet for Netflix to generate curiosity than handing one of the most beloved romances in English literature to a cast this good. Corrin and Lowden have the unenviable task of stepping into the roles previously played by some very memorable performers, while the rest of the cast—including the likes of Olivia Colman, Rufus Sewell, and Jamie Demetriou—promise to liven up the rest of the stacked ensemble. The fact that the story is already so familiar is part of the appeal. However, there's always the dangers of merely replicating what was once made so iconic. Hopefully, that doesn't happen, as this serialized format will have plenty of room to explore different sides to this classic, as well as showcase Austen's famously sharp social observations.
4 'Black Doves' (2024–Present)
Season 2 - November 5, 2026
Black Doves returns with Helen Webb (Keira Knightley) still working as a spy for an organization that has spent years buying and selling political secrets. But her double life grows infinitely more dangerous as her husband, Wallace (Andrew Buchan), prepares to become Prime Minister. And just as her handler gets caught in a ruthless plot, Helen has no choice but to reunite with her old friend Sam (Ben Whishaw), another assassin who's been trying to live a quieter life.
Unlike most spy thrillers, this one proved that the genre need not be relentlessly grim with its perfect balance of brutal action, dry British humor, and complicated relationships. We expect season 2 will follow in similar footsteps, especially since it'll continue to showcase the excellent pairing of Knightley and Whishaw, who gave the show a true emotional center, even amid all the crimes and geopolitical intrigue. If anything, bringing them together will only up the ante, as Helen's double life is put under even more pressure. The wait has been long, so let's get excited to find out whether these two spies can survive another round of terrible decisions.

Dustin Henderson
You do not do friendship at half volume, and neither does he. What you want is somebody who says yes to the plan before you have finished describing the plan.
- Dustin is the friend the entire show runs on: loyal past the point of sense, enthusiastic about everything, and incapable of leaving anybody behind.
- You have the same instinct. Your friendships are loud, specific and slightly ridiculous, and they last for decades because of it.

- Gi-hun is not the strongest player in Squid Game, or the cleverest. He is the one who keeps choosing to protect somebody else, over and over, at genuine cost to himself.
- You have the same instinct. You notice who is struggling and you stay with them, long after anybody would blame you for leaving.
- He is a flawed friend, and that is part of why it lands. He lets people down, then comes back and tries again, which is more than most manage.
- He would give you his last chance and never once mention that he had done it.
3 'East of Eden' (2026)
October 1, 2026
Set in early 20th-century California, Cathy Ames (Florence Pugh) is a fiercely independent young woman who finds herself entangled within the lives of brothers Adam (Christopher Abbott) and Charles Trask (Mike Faist), setting their already complicated relationship on a destructive path. Between rivalries, desires, and conflicting ideas about good and evil, the story spans generations, exploring how the choices and secrets of the past can be carried down to the present.
John Steinbeck's story has already been adapted for the screen, but this version of East of Eden has one major advantage: it can spend far more time exploring the intricacies of the characters and family dynamics that made the novel so enduring. For one, the decision to put Cathy at the center is particularly intriguing as it gives Pugh a meaty role in a story filled with ambition, jealousy, and questions about whether people are destined to repeat the sins of those who came before them. Zoe Kazan also has a personal connection to the material as her grandfather, Elia Kazan, directed the famous 1955 film adaptation—making this one of those literary remakes with an unusually interesting creative history.
2 'Lupin' (2021–Present)
Season 4 - October 23, 2026
Four years after we last saw him, Assane Diop (Omar Sy) remains in prison and has decided to leave his gentleman-thief alter ego behind. Unfortunately, his plans to serve out his sentence and reunite with his family go horribly wrong as he's suddenly framed for a series of spectacular museum heists. And with the police growing convinced of his guilt, Assane has little choice but to escape, don the Lupin persona back, and figure out who is setting him up.
Sy's charismatic performance has always been a huge part of Lupin's appeal, but the show's elaborate heists are what make every new installment feel like an event. And in the case of Part 4, this season has a particularly fun set up with our anti-hero being forced back into the very life he was trying so hard to abandon. This begrudging attitude is what makes the new disguises and schemes all the more exciting, as we have no idea what Assane has up his sleeve. This is yet another show that has had a long hiatus. As such, the return of France's most charming thief couldn't come any sooner.
1 'The Diplomat' (2023–Present)
Season 4 - October 15, 2026
After discovering that her husband, Hal (Rufus Sewell), and President Grace Penn (Allison Janney) were involved in stealing a Russian nuclear weapon, Kate Wyler (Kerri Russell) is forced to deal with the possibility that the people closest to her are willing to risk plunging the world into war. And now faced with a crumbling US-UK relationship, Kate must form an uneasy alliance with First Gentleman Todd Penn (Bradley Whitford), to stop both their spouses before their plans have even bigger consequences.
Few Netflix dramas have made political crises feel quite as compulsively bingeable as The Diplomat, and perhaps that is because its latest one has become inseparable from the show's increasingly tangled personal relationships. Like always, Kate and Hal are trying to work out whether their marriage can survive all the mess, while Grace and Hal's growing alliance puts them on the side of a very dangerous political gamble. Throw Todd into the mix and the show's central quartet suddenly becomes a spectacularly dysfunctional combination of spouses, rivals, and reluctant allies. We can only thank the creatives for bringing Season 4 so soon after that intense finale. After all, there are so many questions that need to be answered.
