Hayden Panettiere’s cause of death confirmed as fentanyl overdose

Hayden Panettiere died from a fentanyl overdose, according to the Greenville county coroner’s office.

Medical examiners in South Carolina confirmed the 36-year old actress’s cause of death on Tuesday, saying: “The cause of death has been ruled as toxic effects of fentanyl, 4-ANPP, Alprazolam, Methocarbamol and Quetiapine.”

They said there were “no signs of trauma” and “the manner of death has been ruled accident”.

The Greenville police department separately confirmed that no foul play was suspected, telling Variety: “The preliminary investigation has not indicated any signs of foul play or suspicious circumstances.”

“An acquaintance of Ms. Panettiere placed the 911 call,” the police department said.
