6.0-magnitude quake hits Sumbawa region in Indonesia

An earthquake with a magnitude of 6.0 struck the Sumbawa region of Indonesia at 6.55am today.
Sumbawa is an island located in the middle of the Lesser Sunda Islands chain between Lombok and Flores.
The Malaysian meteorological department (MetMalaysia) said the quake, at a depth of 87km, occurred 140km south of Bima, a city located on the eastern coast of Sumbawa Island.
It said there was no tsunami threat to Malaysia.
