Most runs in T20s — Jos Buttler passes Kieron Pollard, becomes first batter to reach 15000 runs

England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler moved past Kieron Pollard to take top spot on the list of highest run-scorers in T20s during England’s second T20I against Sri Lanka on Thursday.

Buttler reached the landmark with a single off the bowling of Eshan Malinga in the fifth over of England’s chase.

The 36-year-old also became the first batter to reach 15,000 T20 runs. He has done so in 528 matches at an average of 35.46 and a strike-rate 147.46.

He has scored his runs representing England, Lancashire, Manchester Originals, Manchester Super Giants, Gujarat Titans, Somerset, Paarl Royals, Mumbai Indians, Sydney Thunder, Comilla Victorians, Durban’s Super Giants, Melbourne Renegades, and England Lions.
