A new Star Wars villain makes their debut, described as an "unkillable" antagonist that even a Sith struggles to fight. Throughout their long history, the Sith have faced some of the galaxy’s most formidable threats, often beyond the Jedi themselves. The ancient Sith Empires occasionally clashed with the Mandalorians, whose warrior culture and military prowess rivaled Force-users. Later, the Republic’s armies proved devastating during the Great Hyperspace War and the New Sith Wars. Within their own ranks, Sith Lords like Darth Bane survived only by annihilating his peers.

The Jedi and Sith have housed titans whose skill and power made them nearly impossible to defeat. On the Jedi side, legends like Yoda, Mace Windu, and Obi-Wan Kenobi combined mastery of lightsaber combat with their command of the Force. Among the Sith, Darth Sidious is undeniably the ultimate manipulator, Darth Vader is an unstoppable juggernaut, and Darth Bane is the architect of his kind's survival. Other figures like Darth Maul and Count Dooku displayed lethal precision, while Revan and Exar Kun blurred the lines between Jedi and Sith.

Star Wars: The Fall of Kylo Ren #3's description doesn't confirm whether the "impossible-to-kill" assassin droid is the one introduced in issue #2, but the fact that the Knights of Ren manage to escape from the First Order's Dreadnought unscathed thanks to the Cortosis-enhanced droid supports it. Cortosis' energy-absorbent properties allow the mineral to dissipate blaster fire and short out lightsaber blades upon contact. In the twilight of the Clone Wars, the Separatists weaponized Cortosis to create the C-B3 battle droid, which Anakin Skywalker initially deems unstoppable. In order to purge the Cortosis droid from the First Order's base, Kylo may need to catapult it into outer space.

No entity, weapon, or ship is impossible to destroy in Star Wars, regardless of how invulnerable they might appear. The Galactic Empire poured impressive amounts of resources into the moon-sized Death Star, capable of destroying entire populated worlds, yet ultimately dissolved into stardust by proton torpedoes. Its successor met the same fate above Endor, while massive planetary superweapons like Starkiller Base fell to sabotage despite their massive defensive networks. The legendary Super Star Destroyer Executor, an armored leviathan that crushed entire Rebellion armada lines through sheer intimidation, plummeted helplessly after a damaged A-wing crashed directly into its command bridge.

Likewise, Darth Vader's invincible guise collapsed after defeating Emperor Palpatine, while Palpatine himself cheated death and manipulated the galaxy for decades before meeting his definitive death at the hands of Rey Skywalker. Count Dooku, a master duelist, is executed by Anakin during combat; and General Grievous, despite his cybernetic body, multiple limbs, and collection of lightsabers, is felled by Obi-Wan’s blaster. Just as ironically, Jabba the Hutt, a crime lord who seemed untouchable in his palace, is strangled by Leia, and Boba Fett, the galaxy’s most feared bounty hunter, is swallowed by the Sarlacc. Almost every time someone or something is described as invincible, Star Wars proves otherwise.
