Selma Blair Arrested After Allegedly Attacking, Biting Flight Crew Mid-Air

More details are coming to light about Selma Blair's arrest in New York.

After the actress allegedly attacked the crew while onboard a Delta Airlines flight Oct. 11, she was arraigned on Oct. 12, the Queens County District Attorney confirmed to E! News. A judge set her bail at $20,000 cash, $60,000 bond or a $60,000 partially secured bond, with Page Six reporting she was released on bail and has pled not guilty.

The 54-year-old was charged with two counts of assault in the second degree for allegedly kicking a police officer and a nurse after her flight touched down at John F. Kennedy International Airport, according to the affidavit obtained by E! News.

The police officer accused Blair of kicking her while she was transporting the Legally Blonde star from the airport to an ambulance around 11:50 p.m. on Oct. 11.

"While [the officer] was securing the defendant on a stretcher, the defendant removed her leg from the stretcher straps and kicked [the officer] repeatedly about the face, neck and chest," the affidavit states. "The defendant caused her swelling to her jaw and substantial pain to her face, neck and chest."

Once Blair arrived at the hospital in Queens, New York, she also allegedly attacked a nurse around 2 a.m. Oct. 12, kicking her in the chest and causing "substantial pain," per the affidavit.

Earlier, Blair had allegedly caused a scene on her flight from Los Angeles International Airport to John F. Kennedy International Airport, with the FAA telling E! News in a statement that "the crew reported a passenger disturbance."

Though the FAA said Delta Air Lines Flight 938 ultimately landed safely, Blair was arrested after allegedly attacking the crew, the New York Port Authority confirmed to E! News. Two flight attendants have reported injuries.

Blair's rep told E! News that the Cruel Intentions star "experienced a medical emergency that led to the alleged conduct."

"Upon landing," the rep said, "she received immediate medical attention and is currently in stable condition."

The FBI and FAA are investigating the incident.

E! News has reached out to Blair's lawyer for comment on the charges but hasn't heard back.

Blair—who was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis in 2018—was similarly removed from a Delta flight and hospitalized over a mid-flight outburst in 2016. At the time, she attributed the incident to a bad reaction to combining alcohol with medicine.

"I made a big mistake yesterday," she told Vanity Fair. "After a lovely trip with my son and his Dad, I mixed alcohol with medication, and that caused me to black out and led me to say and do things that I deeply regret."

She continued, "I take this very seriously, and I apologize to all of the passengers and crew that I disturbed and am thankful to all of the people who helped me in the aftermath."
