Noa Lang was treated to a round of boos and insulting chants at the end of Napoli’s 1-1 draw at home against Lazio in Serie A on Sunday afternoon, following an awkward spat between the Dutchman and the supporters while the game was still being played.

Napoli ended their two-game losing streak with a 1-1 draw at home against the table-topping Lazio on Sunday afternoon: Davide Frattesi opened the scoring and an Alfonso Pedraza own-goal got the Partenopei back onto level terms.

What happened with Lang and the supporters during Napoli 1-1 Lazio?

There had been plenty of tension surrounding Napoli and head coach Massimiliano Allegri in the week leading up to the Lazio clash. Allegri has lost seven and won only five of his first 15 matches in charge of Napoli and Sunday’s result leaves them in 11th place in the Serie A table.

Supporters are also growing frustrated with a number of players, particularly Lang, who had tried to avoid applauding the supporters at the end of the 4-1 defeat against Porto in the Champions League earlier this week.

Lang had also attempted to disappear straight down the tunnel at full-time against Lazio, but was urged back onto the pitch by teammates and members of the Napoli staff according to DAZN.

As per TMW, Lang had also been involved in a back-and-forth with the supporters during the Lazio game as well, pointing his finger towards his ear as if to say ‘I can’t hear you’ to the supporters who were booing him.

Then, when Lang finally did approach the supporters at the full-time whistle, he was treated to more boos and chants of ‘Lang, you son of a b****’.

Reports earlier this week suggested that Napoli will look to bring in several new recruits during the January transfer window in an attempt to get their season back on track and that Lang, along with Lorenzo Lucca and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa are among the players most likely to be sacrificed in order to make way for new additions.
