Trump says US 'doing very well with Iran' as indirect negotiations continue
US President Donald Trump claimed that the US is “doing very well with Iran” as indirect negotiations with Tehran are ongoing, while speaking to reporters outside the White House on Friday.
“We are doing very well with Iran. We're talking to Iran. We have been. We haven't lost a soldier in seven months or six months. We have the Hormuz Strait opening,” he said.
Iran is reportedly reviewing proposals, presented by mediators in Qatar, regarding a potential deal with the US, according to a New York Times report on Thursday.
Trump’s Friday comments came shortly after the US Treasury Department announced that it had added eight Canada-based businesses to its Specially Designated List accused of enabling and facilitating currency exchanges with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
