Boniface Mwangi Pledges Space for Youth Leadership Ahead Of 2027 Presidential Bid

Human rights activist and Ukweli Party leader Boniface Mwangi has reiterated his commitment to centering young Kenyans in national governance as he continues his campaign ahead of the 2027 General Election.

Speaking in a video update shared on his Instagram page on Monday, August 25, 2026, following a meeting with campaign volunteers, Mwangi emphasized that his presidential bid aims to build a broad-based political movement rooted in accountability, truth, and the rule of law:

“As the President of Gen Z, we will go where young people are and create space for young people to lead. We mustn’t lose who we are by trying to fit into old politics… Let’s build a movement of truth, accountability, and the rule of law, with the belief that Kenyans will choose right at the ballot.”

Mwangi urged supporters to view his campaign as a collective civic initiative rather than a traditional candidate-centered effort. He encouraged young voters to contribute through grassroots mobilization, public advocacy, and civic participation beyond financial donations:

While confirming that his initial manifesto draft is complete, Mwangi announced plans to launch a nationwide listening tour to gather direct input from citizens across different counties. “At the end of the day, I have my manifesto which I’ve written down, but my final manifesto, which will be launched next year, will come from me travelling to the entire country.”
