Yungblud Exhibition Featuring Previously Unseen ‘Idols’ Photos to Open in London

Translate

Yungblud is inviting fans behind the scenes of his blockbuster Idols era with a new exhibition in London, featuring previously unseen images captured by his photographer and creative director, Tom Pallant.

Organized by Behind The Gallery, Yungblud: Idols will open on Nov. 20 at Union Pacific, located at the gallery’s 17 Goulston Street venue. The exhibition is free to attend and marks the collection’s exclusive U.K. showcase following its world debut in Sydney earlier this year.

Pallant has worked with Yungblud since 2019, and his images have documented the British rock singer’s rise through multiple international tours and major festival appearances including Glastonbury and Coachella. The new exhibition captures the creative process of Idols, Yungblud’s latest studio album, which was released last summer and hit the summit of the Official U.K. Albums Chart, marking the 29-year-old’s fourth No. 1 record in his home nation.

The exhibition will also feature two special events across its opening weekend. An album playback is scheduled for Nov. 20, followed by an Q&A with Pallant the next day. Further details about the events will be announced in due course.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to purchase photographs from the collection. Each print will be hand signed by Pallant and produced on fine-art paper.

In a statement, Pallant said: “Being able to bring this show to London and share the Idols world at home is going to be super special. As we close the chapter on Idols, this feels like the right moment to bring together a collection of our favourite work, including a lot of images that both we and others might have missed along the way.

“This exhibition builds on the foundation we made in Sydney. I’ve always been drawn to the moments that happen around a performance as much as the performance itself, the exhaustion, the chaos, the feeling of putting everything you have into something. I’m hoping people are able to view Idols as a whole project and see the journey we all went on.”

Stephen Dallimore, creative director of Behind The Gallery, added: “Tom Pallant’s photography uniquely captures the raw emotional energy of Yungblud, an artist who has taken the world by storm, and it feels only right that U.K. fans now get to be part of that story. It’s very rare that one photographer can tell an artist’s world like Tom can with Yungblud. Over the course of the exhibition, we’ll celebrate with fans these powerful images through photography, music and storytelling.”

Pallant has previously released a photography book titled All My Friends Have Deserted Me, which chronicled Yungblud’s journey through to his sold-out show at London’s Alexandra Palace in 2021. He has also won three Abbey Road Music Photography Awards over the years.

Yungblud featured on the cover of Billboard U.K. last December, shortly after the arrival of One More Time, a joint EP with Aerosmith. The project marked his highest-charting release on the Billboard 200 to date, landing at No. 9.
