Oluwo congratulates Adeleke, urges alignment with FG

Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi,

The Oluwo of Iwoland, Oba Abdulrosheed Akanbi, has c

ongratulated the Osun State Governor, Ademola Adeleke, on his re-election victory, describing it as a reflection of the will of God and the people of the state.

Akanbi, in a congratulatory message on Sunday, also urged the governor to align with the Federal Government under President Bola Tinubu to attract more development to Osun State.

“When God speaks, I listen. When He instructs, I bow. When He commands, I submit,” the monarch said.

He described Adeleke’s victory as “a divine will of Olodumare expressed by voters through the ballots,” adding that the outcome also demonstrated the growing importance of youth participation in governance and politics.

“I congratulate Governor Ademola Adeleke on this remarkable victory. The victory is a pure manifestation of youthful participation and involvement in his administrative drive,” Oba Akanbi said.

According to him, the governor was able to mobilise a dedicated group of young people who worked tirelessly to canvass support and convince voters to renew his mandate.

The Oluwo urged Adeleke to work closely with the Federal Government, stressing that such cooperation would help accelerate development across Osun State.

“Align with the Federal Government of President Bola Tinubu, so as not to be an isolated governor, because Osun needs the Federal Government to bring more development to cities, towns and villages, not only the capital,” he said.

Akanbi expressed optimism that closer cooperation between the state and federal governments would attract greater dividends to the people of Osun.

“I have strong hope that aligning with the Federal Government will accelerate and attract more dividends to Osun State and her people,” he added.

The monarch also called on Adeleke to strengthen his relationship with the grassroots by visiting all local government areas in the state and organising periodic meetings or summits, which he described as “Apero.”

“I urge you to be closer to the grassroots, not only during elections. Pay visits to every local government and stage a periodic summit (Apero),” he said.

While congratulating the governor, the Oluwo further urged him to demonstrate magnanimity in victory and govern the state without discrimination.

“You are the governor of all in the state,” Oba Akanbi said, praying that Olodumare would grant Adeleke sound health and the wisdom needed to govern and develop the state.

He concluded by once again congratulating the governor on his electoral victory.
