Jhené Aiko Scores First No. 1 on Albums Chart With ‘Westside Whimsy’

Jhené Aiko has scored her first No. 1 album on the Billboard 200 with her fourth record “Westside Whimsy.”

Aiko bows atop the chart with 74,000 equivalent album units, making it the first R&B album by a woman to top the Billboard 200 this year and the first to reach No. 1 since SZA’s “SOS” in May 2025. This year, the only other R&B album to hit No. 1 was Bruno Mars’ “The Romantic.”

“Westside Whimsy,” which touts features from Kendrick Lamar, Tyga and Larry June, arrived without much notice after Aiko announced the project less than a week before its release. It marks her sixth album to hit the Billboard 200, dating back to her first entry, “Sail Out,” in 2013. She last released her third album “Chilombo” in 2020, which debuted at No. 2 and earned three Grammy nominations including album of the year, best progressive R&B album and best R&B performance for “Lightning & Thunder.”

Aiko’s latest is the only album this week to debut in the Billboard 200 top 10. Ella Langley, who is expected to achieve the longest-running No. 1 on the Hot 100 tomorrow with “Choosin’ Texas,” falls to No. 2 with “Dandelion,” moving roughly 60,000 equivalent album units. Olivia Rodrigo’s “You Seem Pretty Sad for a Girl So in Love” comes in at No. 3, followed by Morgan Wallen’s “I’m the Problem” at No. 4 and Noah Kahan’s “The Great Divide” at No. 5.

Rounding out spots six through 10 are Drake’s “Iceman,” Ariana Grande’s “Petal,” Rod Wave’s “Don’t Look Down,” Olivia Dean’s “The Art of Loving” and Kahan’s “Stick Season.”
