India defeated Sri Lanka in the final of the Women’s Asia Cup 2026 at the Dubai International Stadium on Sunday.
Ever since the first edition of the competition in 2004, only three teams have won the coveted title — India, Sri Lanka, and Bangladesh.
India is the most successful team with a record eight titles (2004, 2005-06, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2016, and 2022), while Bangladesh (2018) and Sri Lanka (2024) have won it once each. This was the Women in Blue’s fourth T20 Asia Cup crown.
Under the ODI format, which was in place till 2008, India was the only team that won the tournament.
