Govt to sue MYEG over outstanding revenue, says Loke

PUTRAJAYA: The Transport Ministry and Road Transport Department (RTD) will take appropriate legal action to recover the full amount of outstanding government revenue from My E.G. Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd, both under the MYEG Group, Transport Minister Anthony Loke said.
Loke said the government viewed any failure to properly manage and remit public revenue as a serious matter and would not tolerate non-compliance by any party entrusted with handling government funds.
"The ministry and the RTD will also take appropriate legal action to recover the full amount of outstanding government revenue collections from MyEG," he told a press conference today.
He said the ministry and RTD would continue to safeguard the public interest and ensure the suspension of payment services through MYEG and Zetrix AI did not affect the delivery of government services.
"The suspension will not affect the delivery of RTD services to the public. The relevant transactions will remain available through alternative channels, including the MyJPJ app, the RTD public portal, RTD counters and kiosks, as well as other channels designated by the department," he said.
On Friday, the RTD said it would suspend the services of My E.G. Sdn Bhd and Zetrix AI Bhd, both under the MYEG Group, as its collection agents effective today.
