Thursday’s reports claim that Milan could look to add to their senior management staff in the near future and that former Juventus defender Medhi Benatia is among the potential candidates to fill the role of Head of Football.
Report: Milan looking for a head of football and could appoint Benatia
The Rossoneri completely overhauled their management structure after a disappointing end to the 2025-26 season, which saw the team finish in fifth place and miss out on Champions League qualification despite the fact that they had spent much of the campaign in second place.

Head coach Massimiliano Allegri, sporting director Igli Tare, technical director Geoffrey Moncada and CEO Giorgio Furlani were all dismissed in one statement the day after the 2025-26 season came to an end.
Much has changed in Rossoneri circles since then: Ruben Amorim has replaced Allegri as head coach, but the senior management team has had a complete re-shuffle. Massimo Calvelli is the current CEO, Hendrik Almstadt serves as director of player trading, Bobby Gardiner is the director of football intelligence and Domenico Lomonte is the head of scouting.
According to reports from Calciomercato.com, Milan could add more names to that list in the coming months.
Calciomercato, as well as Matteo Moretto on Fabrizio Romano’s YouTube channel, claim that former Juventus defender Benatia is a candidate to step into the new role of head of football.
Benatia has most recently worked as the sporting director of Ligue 1 side Marseille, but left the club at the end of the 2025-26 season, not long after the departure of head coach Roberto De Zerbi.
