Tangerang (ANTARA) - Indonesia will provide medical and psychological care for four Indonesian crew members who were held hostage by Somali pirates, Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Cultural Affairs Sugiono said on Tuesday.

The four crew members of the MT Honour 25 returned to Indonesia on Tuesday evening after being held hostage by a pirate group in Somalia.

“I want to ensure that the next stage of this process, including healthcare for our fellow citizens, can be carried out properly,” Sugiono said at Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Tangerang on Tuesday.

He said the four victims would receive comprehensive medical and psychological treatment to help them fully recover, both physically and mentally.

“Medical and psychological care has been prepared so that the victims can fully recover, both physically and mentally,” he said.

He also thanked government agencies and other stakeholders involved in the rescue and repatriation of the crew members.

The coordination involved the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Transportation, Commission I of the Indonesian House of Representatives, the Indonesian Embassy in Yaoundé, and other relevant parties.

The four Indonesian nationals arrived at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport in Tangerang, Banten, at around 6:41 p.m. local time and were welcomed by Sugiono and Foreign Minister Arrmanatha Nasir at the airport's VVIP terminal.

Family members and relatives were also present to greet the returning crew members. One of the victims' parents fainted after seeing their child return safely following the hostage ordeal.
