Cleveland keeps winning, and that is exactly why Shedeur Sanders keeps waiting. The Cleveland Browns beat the Tennessee Titans 27-24 on Sunday to move to 5-2, and Deshaun Watson once again made the key throw when it counted. Sanders watched from the sideline, still holding just one pass attempt this season. Now the Browns face a crowded quarterback room, a Tuesday activation deadline for Dillon Gabriel, and a November 10 trade deadline that could change everything. Here is what Cleveland must decide, and why Sanders might well be the one who ends up paying for it.
Deshaun Watson Gives The Cleveland Browns Little Reason To Change Quarterbacks
Sunday's win in Nashville showed why Cleveland trusts its veteran. Deshaun Watson completed 25 of 36 passes for 308 yards and ran for a fourth-quarter touchdown. It was his first 300-yard game as a Brown. The offense backed him up with 491 total yards, led by rookie KC Concepcion's eight catches for 129 yards and Quinshon Judkins' two touchdowns.

Then came the finish. Tennessee tied it with under a minute left, and Watson found Harold Fannin Jr. for 36 yards. Andre Szmyt kicked the 32-yard winner. Every one of Cleveland's five wins has included a fourth-quarter go-ahead drive. Coaches rarely bench a quarterback who closes games like that.
Why Shedeur Sanders And Dillon Gabriel Could Shape The Cleveland Browns Trade Deadline
The first clock runs out Tuesday. Dillon Gabriel's 21-day practice window ends, and Cleveland must activate him or keep him on injured reserve. Doing so would crowd the 53-man roster with four quarterbacks: Watson, Sanders, Gabriel and rookie Taylen Green.
Bleacher Report's Alex Ballentine believes that math points toward a trade.
"Keeping Sanders, Gabriel and rookie Taylen Green might be feasible for a week if they need to facilitate a deal, but having four quarterbacks on the 53-man roster is not ideal," Ballentine said. "If the Browns can flip Sanders for a draft pick, it would make sense to do so in the coming weeks. They aren't benching Watson soon and they'll need to reevalute the position next season."
The Browns sound less eager. Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot reported that Sanders remains the No. 2 option.
"The Browns have been happy with Sanders' progress, and believe he'll show significant improvement if and when he gets his opportunity this season," Cabot wrote.
Sanders did start seven games as a rookie. His best day came against these same Titans, when he threw for 364 yards and three touchdowns in a 31-29 loss.
So the choice is simple to state and hard to make. Keep a developing backup, or sell him for a pick before November 10.
