2027: Adewale Ayuba backs Tinubu’s re-election, gives reason

Nigerian Fuji musician Adewale Ayuba has endorsed President Bola Tinubu’s bid for a second term, saying the president deserves another four years to consolidate his administration’s achievements.
Ayuba, popularly known as Mr Johnson, made his position known in a video shared by Goldmyne TV on Instagram on Sunday.
The singer pointed to what he described as noticeable infrastructure development across the country under Mr Tinubu’s administration.
He said the changes were particularly evident in his hometown, Ikenné, Ogun State, which he used as a personal reference point to assess the impact of the president’s policies.
According to Ayuba, Mr Tinubu should be allowed to complete the projects and initiatives his administration has started.
“I know when I see the good news, I know when good things are happening in my nation. So I travel far and near in Nigeria, and now if I’m going to my town, Ikenne Remo, it takes me only 25 to 30 minutes. And I have five different roads to take to get to Ikenne.
“Not like before, that I had to take the Ibadan Expressway. If I want to go through Ikorodu, I will get to Ikenne. If I want to go through Epe, I will get to Ikenne,” said the singer.
“A second term”
Ayuba said his journey to his hometown was particularly difficult before the Tinubu administration came into power, adding that the deplorable roads also caused significant damage to his car.
He said any leader who delivers tangible results should be given enough time to see their projects through.
Ayuba noted, “And I’m promising you my car will not even go inside the gallop till I reach Ikenné. Any president that is doing that, my brother, we have to allow that kind of president to continue to finish his work.”
Expose
Ayuba also said his travels across various states had allowed him to see the situation in the country for himself.
He said what he has witnessed during these trips compelled him to speak out.
“Anyway, I don’t know what people are thinking about, but somebody wants to come back to finish his eight years, and they want to bring in another president.
“But to me, Adewale Ayuba, what I see is what I’m talking about. I’ve been a musician for ages, and I travel a lot in the state of Nigeria.”
Backstory
Ayuba’s endorsement of Mr Tinubu comes as a growing number of entertainers, including Remi Surutu, Adams “Lege Miami” Kehinde, Yomi Fash-Lanso, Yul Edochie, Seyi Law, Eniola Badmus and Zack Orji, publicly declared their support for the president’s bid for a second term in 2027.
Some of the entertainers also formed EKO57, a political support group created to rally Nigerians behind Mr Tinubu’s re-election. They said the president had performed well since taking office.

The group argued that several of the problems facing the country predated Mr Tinubu’s administration, blaming some of them on the actions and attitudes of Nigerians.
They also claimed that the president had handled several sensitive issues away from public attention, preventing them from escalating.
According to the entertainers, Mr Tinubu’s interventions had helped avert what could otherwise have developed into a more severe crisis.
Mr Tinubu faces a stern re-election bid next year as the country battles with its worst cost-of-living crisis in a generation, brought about by government policies which the president says are essential.
