Super Eagles midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi made his long-awaited return to action as a second-half substitute, helping Olympique de Marseille secure a comfortable 2-0 victory over Troyes in Sunday’s Ligue 1 encounter at the Stade de l’Aube.

The Nigerian international, who has faced a frustrating spell on the sidelines due to injury this season, was introduced in the 73rd minute to replace Kamissoko, marking his third league appearance of the campaign.

After a tightly contested first half that ended scoreless, Marseille broke the deadlock shortly after the restart. In the 50th minute, Amine Harit latched onto a delivery from Emerson Palmieri to fire the visitors ahead.

Troyes pushed hard for an equalizer, hitting the woodwork twice and applying heavy late pressure, but Bruno Genesio’s side maintained a disciplined defensive block with Nnadi helping anchor the midfield in the closing stages.

Deep into stoppage time, substitute Himad Abdelli calmly converted a 90th-minute penalty to extinguish any hopes of a Troyes comeback and seal all three points for the visitors.
