P1.87-M shabu, guns seized in Oriental Mindoro drug bust
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Police arrested a suspected high-value drug target and seized around 275.55 grams of suspected shabu worth P1.87 million, along with firearms, ammunition, and drug paraphernalia, during a search operation in Barangay Bagumbayan in the Oriental Mindoro town of Roxas on Thursday (Sept. 24).
Police said the suspect, a 41-year-old resident of Sitio Madugo in Barangay Bagumbayan, was detained at his home at around 11 a.m. after authorities served two search warrants issued by the Roxas Regional Trial Court Branch 43 in Roxas on Sept. 21.

The search was conducted in connection with alleged violations of Republic Act No. 9165 (the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002), and RA 10591 (the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act).

Authorities recovered 22 heat-sealed sachets and other small packages containing suspected shabu with a combined estimated weight of 275.55 grams. Police placed the standard drug price of the seized substance at P1,873,740.
Also seized were a caliber .22 rifle and a caliber .45 1911A1 Norinco pistol with magazine, as well as ammunition consisting of 63 rounds of 9mm, 26 rounds of caliber .45 and six rounds of caliber .38, among others.
A digital weighing scale and assorted drug paraphernalia were also recovered. /jpv
