Malaysia, India seek closer ties in semiconductor sector

Malaysia and India want to work more closely in the semiconductor industry, including in investment, training, and supply chains.

The matter was discussed during Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim’s meeting with his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, on the sidelines of the BRICS summit here today.

The two leaders discussed how companies from both countries could work together and invest more in the sector.

They also reaffirmed their commitment to increasing trade and investment between the two countries, and explored measures to make it easier and faster for Malaysian goods to enter the Indian market.

Both sides also looked at increasing the number of flights between Malaysia and India to boost tourism and travel.

Anwar thanked India for its warm welcome and reaffirmed the long-standing friendship between the two countries.
