Affin's private banking arm wins Asia-Pacific award as assets surge 38pct

KUALA LUMPUR: Affin Group's private banking arm, Affin Diventium, has been named Outstanding Private Bank Asia Pacific at the Private Banker International Global Wealth Awards 2026, just two years after its launch.
The recognition comes as the group's private banking business recorded a 38 per cent increase in assets under management to RM2.2 billion as of June 2026, from RM1.6 billion a year earlier.
Affin Group president and group chief executive officer Datuk Wan Razly Abdullah said the award reflected the group's ambition to build a competitive private banking business.
"When we established Affin Diventium, we set ourselves the ambition of delivering a top-tier private banking experience. Receiving Asia Pacific recognition within two years gives us confidence in the business we are building," he said.
Affin Diventium serves business owners, entrepreneurs and multi-generational families, offering wealth management strategies tailored to their financial goals, business interests and family needs.
The bank also seeks to strengthen client relationships through lifestyle and hospitality partnerships, including motoring, golf and luxury yachting events.
In August 2026, Affin expanded its partnership with Indonesia's PT Bank Central Asia Tbk to explore additional services for customers in both markets, while also teaming up with Marriott Bonvoy to offer selected new private banking clients lifestyle perks, including a three-day, two-night stay at The St Regis Langkawi.
Beyond wealth management, Affin offers an Automated Safe Deposit Locker, which it describes as Malaysia's first, providing clients with a secure and private way to store valuables.
The latest award adds to the group's regional recognition, following its inclusion in the Fortune Southeast Asia 500 for three consecutive years.
Affin Group chief financial officer Joanne Rodrigues was also named among Fortune's Most Powerful Women Asia 2026 for the third consecutive year.
Affin said the development of its private banking business supports its AX28 Plan, which focuses on customer service, digital leadership and responsible banking.
