Police arrest Romblon’s most wanted person for rape raps


CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — Authorities have arrested Romblon province’s No. 1 most wanted fugitive, who faces a statutory rape charge, during a coordinated manhunt operation on Thursday (August 20).
In a statement, the Police Regional Office in MIMAROPA (Occidental and Oriental Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan) said the suspect, a 36-year-old man, was apprehended at the Municipal Fish Port in Barangay Poblacion-II at the town of Romblon on the strength of a warrant of arrest issued by the Fourth Judicial Region Family Court for Statutory Rape.

No bail has been recommended for the offense.

The suspect is currently in the custody of Romblon Municipal Police Station for documentation and proper disposition, pending turnover to the issuing court.
