Police have executed a search-and-seizure warrant at the KwaZulu-Natal home of Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

Police have executed a search-and-seizure warrant at the KwaZulu-Natal home of Police Minister Senzo Mchunu, who is on special leave, taking electronic devices as part of an ongoing investigation into fraud and defeating the ends of justice.

Officers from the Provincial Serious and Violent Crimes Unit executed the warrant granted by the Gauteng High Court in Johannesburg at Mchunu’s private residence on Monday.

KwaZulu-Natal police spokesperson Colonel Robert Netshiunda said an operation was conducted at a Cabinet minister’s house, while Mchunu’s spokesperson, Sithembiso Mshengu, added that the raid took place at the minister’s home.

“This is part of an ongoing police investigation on cases of defeating the ends of justice and fraud, among other charges, which were opened in 2025 at Durban Central police station,” Netshiunda said.

Mchunu’s home was first raided in October last year.
