'I never stayed there alone': Salman Khan says his room in Galaxy Apartments was haunted; reveals he 'could feel somebody outside...lights used to go on and off'

Salman Khanshared an unusual account from his family home at Galaxy Apartments in Mumbai, recalling how he sensed an unseen presence in his room. The actor discussed the experience during the opening episode of ‘Koffee With Karan’ Season 9.

He said the lights sometimes switched on and off, cupboards opened unexpectedly, and music began playing without an apparent reason. The conversation began when Karan Johar remembered visiting the Khan family home to narrate the script of ‘Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. He recalled that Salman lived in a surprisingly small room, despite his growing stardom. The actor then revealed that he believed he was not alone whenever he stayed there.Salman Khan recalls sensing a presence in his roomKaran Johar described the room as having only a bed, a cupboard and limited space. “The family stayed together. There was Arbaaz, Sohail, Salman, Salma aunty, Salim uncle, everyone. You had the tiniest room. You had one closet, one cupboard and one bed. I was shocked because I was like, ‘Yeh Salman Khan ka kamra hai?’"His recollection prompted Salman Khan to explain why he felt uncomfortable being alone there, although he never claimed to have seen the presence.

Salman responded, “You know, that room, I never stayed there alone. I stayed there with somebody jisko maine kabhi dekha hi nahi hai, sirf suna hai, sirf mehsoos kiya hai peeche. Every time I came out, the lights used to go on and off. The cupboards used to open up. The music used to come on.

Salman Khan also recalled hearing movements near the bathroom cupboard. He said the repeated incidents eventually led him to believe that something was present, even though he could not identify it.“In the bathroom, I could feel somebody outside fidgeting with the cupboard and opening it. Then I figured out there was somebody there, something there."Karan Johar asked whether Salman thought the room was haunted. The actor clarified that he did not describe it that way, preferring to explain the experience as a feeling of someone's presence. Karan asked, “You felt it was haunted?"Salman replied, “No, not haunted. I mean, there was a presence felt there by me."

Salman Khan says the experience did not scare him

The actor said he particularly noticed the presence whenever he played music. He recalled feeling that someone was standing behind him, prompting him to ask what the presence wanted to hear. He would then play a song and leave the room.“Every time I put on some music, I could feel it right behind me," Salman said.He also remembered hearing sounds from inside while playing billiards outside. Despite these incidents, he said the experience never “freaked" him out because nothing had harmed him.

“There was a billiards table outside earlier. When we used to play billiards, we could hear someone inside," he added.
