EUROMATCH NPFL: 3SC Seek First Point Away Ahead Of Kun Khalifat Clash

Translate

Shooting Stars Sports Club (3SC) will be eager to pick up their first points on the road this season when they travel to face bottom-placed Kun Khalifat FC on Matchday 8 of the EUROMATCH Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL), completesports.com reports.

The game is scheduled for Sunday, October 11 at the Dan Anyiam Stadium, Owerri — Kun Khalifat’s adopted home ground.

The Oluyole Warriors are 14th with eight points from seven matches, recording two wins, two draws and three losses. They began the campaign with a 2-1 win over Inter Lagos but have lost all three away games this season.

A 3-1 defeat to Plateau United was followed by 1-0 loss to Warri Wolves and a 4-2 hammering in the hands of Enyimba.

Their poor away form and goalless draws at home against Nasarawa United and Kano Pillars in their last two games have put pressure on technical adviser Salisu Yusuf, with some fans calling for his sack.

The club issued a statement this week acknowledging the poor start and warning fans against violence and abuse towards staff and players.

On their part, Kun Khalifat are 20th on the table with five points from seven games — one win, two draws and four defeats. They have the worst defence in the league with 14 goals conceded and are coming off a 1-0 loss to Niger Tornadoes. Their only win so far was a 1-0 home win over Kwara United.

Both Kun Khalifat and 3SC have won their home game in the two previous meetings, with the former holding a narrow 3-2 edge in goals.

Sunday’s clash is already a six-pointer. For 3SC, anything less than their first away point will increase the pressure further.
