The Deputy Registrar and Head, Directorate of Information and Corporate Affairs, EKSU, Mayowa Ogunlola, said the approval was given at the Council’s regular meeting held on Thursday, September 17, 2026.

The new Registrar, a former Global President of the EKSU Alumni Association, had served as Commissioner in the Ekiti State Universal Basic Education Board; Registrar and Secretary to Council of the National Institute for Educational Planning and Administration, Ondo (2017–2018); Registrar and Secretary to Council of the Federal Polytechnic, Ekowe Island, Bayelsa State (2018–2021); and Registrar and Secretary to Council of Ajayi Crowther University, Oyo (2021–2025).

The statement added, “Dr Babatola is a member of several professional bodies including Fellow, Nigerian Institute of Management; Fellow, the Chartered Institute of Administration; Fellow, Institute of Management Consultants; Fellow, Institute of Corporate Administration; Full Member, Chartered Institute of Personnel Management; Member, Association of Nigerian University Professional Administrators; Member, Association of University Administrators (UK); and Associate, Institute of Chartered Secretaries and Administrators among others.

“He carved a niche for himself as an historian, public analyst, university administrator and higher education manager. He had a brief stay in the private sector before joining the services of EKSU as an Administrative Officer One in 2001,” Ogunlola stated.
