Toss India opt to bat vs Sri Lanka
Defending champions India won the toss and chose to bat against Sri Lanka in the Asian Games gold-medal match in Nisshin. Both sides were unchanged.
To make the final, India brushed aside Japan and Bangladesh in the quarter-final and semi-final respectively, while Sri Lanka did the same against Malaysia and Pakistan.
It will be a rematch of the 2023 Asian Games final, which India won by 19 runs. Both sides also recently met in the final of the Asia Cup where India dethroned Sri Lanka to become champions for the eighth time.
The two teams have met 32 times in T20Is, with India winning 26 games, Sri Lanka winning five, and one match having no result. Sri Lanka have lost their last seven T20Is against India and won only once in their last 11 meetings.
