Braves switch to Kerr for Game 2 vs. Dodgers, push Sale to Game 3

Translate

The Atlanta Braves have adjusted their pitching plans against the Los Angeles Dodgers, instead starting Ray Kerr in Game 2 on Sunday and pushing back Chris Sale to Game 3 of the National League Division Series.

The Dodgers have a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five series.

Because Sale was needed in relief -- after just one day of rest -- during Game 3 of the NL Wild Card series against the Philadelphia Phillies, the Braves opted to give him additional rest instead of having him take the mound on Sunday.

Kerr was the surprise starter in the clincher vs. the Phillies, throwing 3 1/3 scoreless innings in his postseason debut. He will be making his fifth career start on Sunday as the Braves will stage a second straight bullpen game against the Dodgers.
