Independent Talent Group Buys Into Sports Agency Tongue Tied Management

Translate

Independent Talent Group (ITG) has bought into UK sport talent agency Tongue Tied Management (TTM).

The deal comes as ITG seeks growth following Sienna Private Equity last December buying a major stake in Duncan Heath’s agency, which represents the likes of Daniel Craig and Gillian Anderson.

TTM represents athletes, coaches, broadcasters, and creators, including Jill Scott, Manchester United coach Michael Carrick, Dion Dublin and Hayley McQueen. FIFA-registered intermediary and Women in Football board member Jo Tongue founded and leads the agency.

“This strategic investment is an important step in Independent Talent Group’s ambition to build Europe’s leading entertainment and sport talent group,” said Sally Long-Innes, CEO of ITG. “Tongue Tied Management is an exceptional founder-led business, built on outstanding expertise, and deep client relationships – leading in growth areas like women’s sport.”

Tongue said ITG’s investment would allow TTM’s team and clients “access to a broader network across entertainment and global commercial partnerships, while preserving the spirit, culture, and personal approach our clients value.”

The news also comes soon after ITM set up a studio with former BBC News boss Deborah Turness.

“Our ambition is to build a business that has broader capabilities and expertise at the intersection of culture, entertainment and sport whilst keeping a focus on what matters most: outstanding people, exceptional talent and long-term relationships,” said ITG founder and chairman Heath today.

“This investment reflects how we intend to grow in the sport and entertainment sectors – backing exceptional founders and investing in great businesses to strengthen our collective platform and give both partners more opportunities to grow.”
