Farah Khan SCOLDED Shah Rukh Khan on set, but never had the courage to do the same with Amitabh Bachchan

Farah Khan may have never shied away from calling out superstars on a film set, but there was one actor she simply couldn’t bring herself to scold: Amitabh Bachchan. The filmmaker and choreographer has now opened up about this, and also recalled how Shah Rukh Khan once urged her to shout at him in front of everyone, so that the crew would know she treated even the biggest stars the same way.

Farah Khan shares her stories on Double Date

The filmmaker shared these stories during an appearance with tennis star Sania Mirza on Neha Dhupia and Angad Bedi’s talk show Double Date. “The only person I never had the courage to scold was Amit ji,” Farah said.

Farah Khan recalls Shah Rukh Khan asking her to shout at him

Looking back on working with Shah Rukh and Amitabh on the sets of Karan Johar’s Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham, she recalled that Shah Rukh had once told her not to hold back from shouting at him whenever he got something wrong.

“Shah Rukh was very sweet. He came to me and said, ‘What you do is, you shout at me. Whatever you have to say, just shout at me. Then everybody will get the message that if you can shout at Shah Rukh too, you must be mad,'” she recalled.Farah also told a story from the making of “Say Shava Shava”, during which Amitabh repeatedly altered a few of the dance steps. Standing behind him, Shah Rukh seemed to be muttering something, and Farah spun around and instantly rebuked him for tampering with the choreography.

“I was like, ‘SRK, how dare you change the step? Just do whatever I taught you,’” she recalled.

Farah Khan says Shah Rukh Khan was one of the sweetest actors

She further revealed that Shah Rukh liked to tease her about being equally tough on everyone at work. He would say her best quality was that she yelled at all alike, be it a spot boy or a superstar like himself. She noted that she seldom needed to raise her voice at him, as he was one of the sweetest, kindest and most dedicated actors on set.

In fact, she said, he was one of the rare stars who would ask her to come over and shout at him if she had something to say.

Farah Khan and Shah Rukh Khan’s three-decade friendship

Shah Rukh and Farah’s friendship stretches back more than three decades. Their paths first crossed on the sets of Kundan Shah’s 'Kabhi Haan Kabhi Naa' (1994), where Farah was a choreographer. Her directorial debut, 'Main Hoon Na' (2004), starred Shah Rukh, as did her next film, 'Om Shanti Om' (2007), which introduced Deepika Padukone to Bollywood. They collaborated once more on 'Happy New Year' (2014), with Deepika, Abhishek Bachchan, Sonu Sood and Boman Irani also in the cast.
