Warning: Mild SPOILERS lie ahead for MobLand season 2!EXCLUSIVE: Jan and Harry are going through their trickiest chapter yet in MobLand season 2.

Played by Tom Hardy and Joanne Froggatt, the pair are introduced in season 1 of the Guy Ritchie-produced series as a husband and wife whose marriage is on the verge of collapsing due to the former's frequent absence with his work as a fixer for the Harrigan crime family. After surviving attempted hits from the Stevenson family, MobLand season 1 ended on a cliffhanger for Harry and Jan as, in a moment of frustration, she stabs him in the chest, to which he attempts to assuage her fears.

MobLand season 2 picks up with Harry and Jan still processing the stabbing, with Harry having recovered, and the pair continuing their couples' therapy in the hopes of repairing their marriage. However, as Pierce Brosnan's Conrad and Helen Mirren's Maeve start to become more unhinged, all while Paddy Considine's Kevin quietly plans a civil war against his father, Harry's focus is again pulling him away from his wife, with Jan ultimately issuing him divorce papers before the end of the season premiere.

Ahead of the show's return, ScreenRant's Grant Hermanns interviewed Joanne Froggatt to discuss MobLand season 2. When asked about how Jan and Harry's relationship is changing after the season 1 stabbing incident, the Golden Globe winner began by describing this season's arc as being "really fun to play," while teasing that both her character and the pair are "at a real crossroads" in their lives, particularly Jan having "some sort of existential crisis."

Froggatt went on to recall the conversations had with Ritchie and showrunner Jez Butterworth about Jan's journey in MobLand season 2, praising the latter for giving her "this map of where [Jan's] going," and delighting in the opportunity to "play all the intricacies" around the various situations her character finds herself in this season:

Joanne Froggatt: I did have a big chat with Jez about Jan's trajectory for the season, which was really helpful in understanding where he wanted Jan to go, because ultimately, I'm serving his story, and then Jez and Guy and everyone really do give us the autonomy to be able to bring something to the table ourselves, as well. So it's been a really lovely process.

Throughout the majority of MobLand season 1, Jan's journey was similarly about trying to reclaim some agency in her life, attending a psychotherapist for help processing her frustrations and doubts surrounding her marriage to Harry. In addition to seemingly finding a new friend with undercover police officer Alice, she also grew close with Lara Pulver's Bella over their struggles with being a mob wife and living under the thumb of the Harrigans, all while wanting more.

However, while season 1 may have touched on similar ground, MobLand season 2 has already taken things a step in a different direction for Jan by actually seeing her decide to go ahead with her divorce plans from Harry. Given Teddie Allen's Gina has been revealed to have run away from home, now living with Eddie and being part of a shakedown scheme, Jan also clearly feels his failings as a parent have gone on long enough that something needs to change in order to regain some peace in her life.
