InaSkills 2026 part of national manpower transformation: Minister

Jakarta (ANTARA) - Manpower Minister Yassierli said the 2026 Indonesia Skills Competition (InaSkills) is an important part of national manpower transformation.
“God willing, this is part of the manpower transformation we are building now,” Yassierli said at the opening of InaSkills 2026 at the Manpower Ministry’s Vocational Building here on Tuesday.
InaSkills 2026, which runs until October 31, has 90 participants, consisting of 50 participants in five competition fields and 40 participants in the exhibition field.
Through this competition, prospective competitors’ abilities are tested according to their respective skill fields, with assessments referring to international standards.
“Of course, we hope the InaSkills competition can give optimism to Indonesia’s workforce that Indonesia’s human resources are actually no less competent than those in developed countries,” he said.
A total of 30 judges will assess the five competition fields, namely Refrigeration and Air Conditioning, Industrial Automation, Hotel Reception, Mechanical Engineering CAD, and Internet of Things (IoT). There is also one exhibition field, namely Microsoldering by Indonesian Mobile Phone Technicians (TESPOIN).
The competition is spread across three locations, namely the Bekasi and Serang Major Vocational and Productivity Training Centers (BBPVP) and AKTI Karawang.
The prospective competitors come from various routes, including the Student Competency Competition (LKS), the Indonesian Vocational Olympiad (OLIVIA), industry, Vocational and Productivity Training Centers (BPVP), and winners of the Circuit Global Championship organized by TESPOIN.
InaSkills is one stage of national skills talent development, covering talent source identification, competition through test projects, assessment, training camps, and capacity building.
Winners get the chance to join training camps at the Manpower Ministry’s training center, a Human Resources Development Service of Korea (HRDK) training program, and international skills competitions, from WorldSkills ASEAN and WorldSkills Asia to WorldSkills International.
