Chiefs need Tyreek Hill more than ever after unfortunate WR injuries
The Kansas City Chiefs already had questions surrounding their wide receiver room entering the 2026 season. The group lacked proven depth behind Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy, while Tyquan Thornton was also expected to take on a larger role. Those concerns became even more serious during Sunday's game against the Las Vegas Raiders.
Kansas City saw three wide receivers suffer injuries during the game. Rice left with a hamstring issue, Worthy was also injured, and Thornton suffered a serious lower-leg injury after making a 55-yard catch in the fourth quarter. Thornton had five catches for 111 yards and two touchdowns before leaving the game.

The injuries leave the Chiefs with even more uncertainty at a position. That makes the possibility of bringing back former star Tyreek Hill more intriguing than it was before Week 4.

Hill remains a free agent as he works his way back from the knee injury that ended his 2025 season. The eight-time Pro Bowler spent the first six seasons of his career with Kansas City.
Hill's recovery remains the biggest factor. His agent, Drew Rosenhaus, said last month that Hill was targeting October for a potential return.

Hill also posted "hm" on X Sunday, adding another cryptic message as speculation continues about his next destination.
His latest post arrives at an interesting time for a Chiefs team that suddenly needs help at his former position.

Chiefs have more reason to consider a reunion
The Chiefs now have a stronger reason to explore the possibility if Hill is ready.
If he can prove that he is healthy enough to contribute, he could give Kansas City another proven weapon and force defenses to account for his speed.
