‘DWTS' Pro Witney Carson Slams Untrue "Narratives" About Guillermo Rodriguez Partnership

Guillermo Rodriguez and Witney Carson are determined to put their best foot forward.

While the couple have consistently sat at the bottom of the leaderboard during the first four weeks of Dancing With the Stars season 35, their most recent samba earning only 15 out of a possible 30 points, they’re more determined than ever to continue.

“Okay, you guys! We made it, week five,” Witney began an Oct. 7 Instagram Story, while at her side Guillermo added, “I know, I’m excited. I’m happy.”

But while Witney—who is currently pregnant with her and husband Carson McAllister’s third baby boy—promised she and Guillermo have an “epic” week five dance ahead of them, she admitted getting there will take some effort.

“Today is always like a little bit rough,” she acknowledged, “because we're starting over.”

To which Guillermo admitted, “Yeah, we’re tired.”

Indeed, the Wednesday after DWTS’ live Tuesday episode is the day that the celebrities and their partners begin preparing for the next week and learning a new dance. In this case, they’re getting ready to blitz their way up the leaderboard with a Super Bowl-themed performance.

The pair also reflected on their week four showing, of which judge Carrie Ann Inaba said it seemed like Guillermo had lost his “joy.”

“The samba was good,” Guillermo said to Witney. “It was fast and everything. I think it was great.”

Witney affirmed her partner, before adding, “Honestly, it was a really, really hard week. We were in New York. We had very little time to rehearse, and samba is just a really hard dance. So the fact that you know we had the week that we had and we still delivered, we are doing our very best.”

After all, despite rumblings that the pair might be hoping to be eliminated early—rumors Witney has categorically denied—the professional dancer emphasized they’ve been giving the show their all.

“I'm doing my best. He's doing his best,” the 32-year-old said. “That was two people trying to do a samba and make you guys happy and feel some sort of positivity and joy while doing it.”

To which Guillermo said, “Yeah, we're happy, excited to be here. And thank you to all the fans.”

However, I added five more Dancing With the Stars on the board."
