Netflix's "twisty" Harlan Coben thriller with Michelle Keegan and Mandeep Dhillon gets big update

With a "twisty" Harlan Coben novel serving as its inspiration and a stacked cast including Michelle Keegan, The Woods is perhaps one of the most eagerly-awaited upcoming projects from Netflix.
And with anticipation building, there's been an exciting update for the thriller series, with production company Quay Street Productions confirming via social media that filming has been completed.
In a post on Instagram earlier this week, the company wrote: "THAT’S A WRAP on Harlan Coben’s The Woods… On behalf of everyone at QSP and Netflix we want to say a huge THANK YOU to the entire cast and crew for making this shoot so much fun."

The post also included three photos of the cast and crew posing in front of the camera, while it was also teased that more content - such as behind-the-scenes footage and first-looks - would be coming.
The series is based on Coben's 2007 novel of the same name, which was previously adapted for Netflix in the Polish language. The plot follows Paul 'Cope' Copeland (Tom Bateman), a barrister who is haunted by the disappearance of his sister Camille 20 years ago.
No trace of her has ever been found, but there's a breakthrough after the body of a man - who was supposedly murdered alongside Camille - is discovered. There's still no sign of her, but Cope has fresh hope that she made it out alive.
"Determined to uncover the truth, Cope begins a search for answers, unearthing years of lies, cover-ups, and family secrets that threaten to destroy everything he has built," reads the logline (via Tudum).
In addition to Bateman and Keegan, the latter of whom portrays Lucy Silverfield, the stellar cast for the limited series include Mandeep Dhillon, Pearce Quigley, Rade Sherbedgia, James Buckley, Tracy-Ann Oberman and Tom Allen.

The series is being co-written by Danny Brocklehurst, who has helmed several adaptations of Coben's work. He is also no stranger to Keegan, with the pair having worked together on Fool Me Once, Ten Pound Poms and Brassic.
Speaking about the series, Keegan said: "What's really exciting for me as an actor is that Lucy is dealing with these deep, personal secrets. I get to really explore her vulnerability and that emotional push and pull, which just makes the story feel so real and powerful."
The Woods will stream on Netflix.
