Melaka polls: PN's request for two more seats rests with party leadership, says Khaled

KUALA LUMPUR: Negotiations over Perikatan Nasional's (PN) request for two additional seats in the upcoming Melaka state election have been left to the party leadership to decide.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said a decision on the matter would be made in the near future.

"I think we should leave that (the two seats) to the party to decide," he said at a press conference after the opening ceremony of the 100th National General Assembly of the Armed Forces Veterans Association.

Pas deputy president Datuk Seri Tuan Ibrahim Tuan Man said PN hoped to negotiate for two additional seats in the state election.

He said that although Barisan Nasional chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi had announced that seven seats had been allocated to Pas, the final decision on seat distribution would be made by the Seat Negotiations Committee.
