Chukwueze Gets Good Rating In Lazio vs AC Milan

Translate

Samuel Chukwueze got good rating as AC Milan came from 2-0 down to force Lazio to a 2-2 draw in Saturday’s Serie A clash.

Chukwueze was named in Ruben Amorim’s starting lineup and saw action for 90 minutes as Milan continued their impressive start to the campaign.

As compiled by Sempre Milan, Chukwueze was rated six out of 10 for his impressive performance for the Italian giants.

Commenting on his display Sempre Milan wrote:”Chukwueze caused some issues for Lazio on the flank. That said, the end product could have been better (especially in the first half) and the tracking back was far from brilliant on the first goal.”

Lazio led 2-0 at half-time through Matteo Cancellieri’s 10th minute strike and Tijjani Noslin doubling the lead on 39 minutes.

Milan improved after the break following three half-time substitutions (including Christian Pulisic and Diego Moreira). Moreira scored twice in quick succession (65’ and 67’)—the first a volley from a Pulisic cross and the second a strike from the edge of the area—to earn a point.

Lazio have now dropped points for the first time this season and sat on 10 points while Milan remained unbeaten with eight points.

Chukwueze has been impressing under Portuguese coach Ruben Amorim at AC Milan this season.

Amorim took over as Milan coach in 2026 (after his spell at Manchester United) and quickly confirmed Chukwueze would stay despite previous uncertainty following a loan at Fulham.

He has valued the Nigerian’s one-on-one ability, pace, and versatility, deploying him primarily in a wing-back role within a 3-4-2-1 or similar system — a shift from Chukwueze’s traditional attacking winger position.

Chukwueze himself has spoken positively about Amorim’s trust and coaching, saying the manager gave him a genuine opportunity after the loan and that he’s working hard to adapt and seize it.

Amorim has also publicly defended the unconventional use of him as a wing-back, emphasizing mentality and character over pure defensive pedigree.

It is a clear revival story for the Super Eagles winger at San Siro after earlier struggles for consistent minutes as early signs under Amorim look promising.
