NPFL Suspends Fan Jamilu Murtala Over Alleged Threats To Officials, Away Teams

Translate

The Nigeria Premier Football League ,NPFL, has suspended football fan Jamilu Murtala from all league activities with immediate effect over alleged persistent threats to the safety of match officials and visiting teams.

Ranchers Bees, who have adopted the Sani Abacha Stadium in Kano as their temporary home ground, had lodged a complaint with the league over the access granted to Murtala, popularly known as Bahago, to restricted areas of the pitch during their home matches.

In their petition to the NPFL, the Kaduna-based club distanced themselves from Murtala, accusing him of repeatedly disrupting proceedings and constituting a nuisance during their home fixtures.

Following the complaint, the league moved to bar the fan from all NPFL activities in a bid to safeguard match officials, visiting teams and other stakeholders while maintaining order at league venues.

Meanwhile, Ranchers Bees will travel to Ibadan on Sunday to face Shooting Stars in their next NPFL fixture.

The club’s next home match is scheduled for Sunday, October 25, when they host Doma United.
