Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders Sue My Chemical Romance

My Chemical Romance is being sued by the owner of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand after performing with dancers dressed in outfits spoofing the cheerleaders’ uniforms at the Hollywood Bowl this week.

Pro Silver Star Ltd., the owner of the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders brand, has requested a temporary restraining order and temporary injunction against My Chemical Romance, accusing the band of degrading its brand, according to TheWrap.

The moment occurred during MCR’s first of five sold-out The Black Parade shows at the Hollywood Bowl on October 21st. As the band played “Teenagers,” dancers dressed in outfits resembling the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders’ uniforms took the stage, initially performing choreography before taking up rifles to protect MCR from militarized forces.

“On Oct. 21, 2026, Defendants staged ‘The Black Parade,’ a theatrical concert production set in a fictional dictatorship and featuring pyrotechnics and armed conflict,” Pro Silver Star Ltd. said in its filing. “As part of that production, female performers took to the stage in the DCC Uniform—and then armed themselves with rifles in a staged firefight, only to be depicted being shot.”

“Audience members and online commentators understandably believed that the performers were the real Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders and said so in social media posts that continue to circulate,” the filing added.

According to the filing, Pro Silver Star contacted My Chemical Romance and requested that the band stop using the uniforms, but claims the band refused to comply.

“Silver Star is not litigious, and it takes no issue with MCR’s music, its artistic ambitions, or any message Defendants seek to convey. Silver Star does not ask Defendants to change their setlist, narrative, politics, choreography, or even their decision to put gun-toting performers on stage. Silver Star asks only that those performers not wear the DCC Uniform while doing it. The universe of alternative costume designs is effectively unlimited.”

In addition to a restraining order and temporary injunction, Pro Silver Star Ltd. is seeking unspecified monetary damages.
