Asian Games 2026: India wins gold medal in men’s kabaddi after beating Iran

India completed the golden double in kabaddi at the ongoing Asian Games 2026 after the men’s team beat arch-rival Iran 40-34 on Saturday.
This triumph comes hours after the Indian women’s team also beat Iran with a scoreline of 37-34 to clinch the women’s kabaddi gold medal.
This is India’s fourth gold medal of this edition of the Games, joining the women’s cricket win, the 10m air pistol mixed team of Kamaljeet and Suruchi Singh gold, and the women’s kabaddi title.
For the men, this is a record-extending ninth gold medal for India in the history of the Asian Games. The only edition in which the side failed to clinch the yellow metal was in 2018, when India settled for bronze.
