Jon Ossoff Makes L.A. Fundraising Swing In Midterm Final Stretch

Translate

Sen. Jon Ossoff (D-GA) will be in Los Angeles on Monday for a fundraising swing, expected to be his final one through a prime Democratic donor base with the midterms approaching.

Ossoff will appear at an evening reception in Beverly Hills hosted by James Costos, former U.S. ambassador to Spain, and designer Michael Smith. Other hosts include Donna Arkoff Roth and Larry Schnur, and John Emerson and Kimberly Marteau, per an invite. Tickets started at $3,500 per person, rising to $25,000 per person to be listed as a host supporter. Proceeds go to the Ossoff Victory Fund, with a split between his campaign, other Georgia committees and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

Ossoff also is scheduled to appear at a late-afternoon fundraiser in Hancock Park, with Jonathan Glickman and Christy Callahan among the co-hosts, along with a list that includes Tom Hoberman, David Kramer and Grant Heslov. Tickets to that event start at $250, per an invite, Politico first reported on the event.

Earlier in the cycle, the Georgia senator was viewed as a primary pickup opportunity for Republicans. But he is well ahead in the polls, as President Donald Trump’s approval rating has dropped.

A substantial victory in the purplish state likely will accelerate talk of a 2028 presidential bid. But at a debate last week, Ossoff said that he would serve his full six year term if reelected. “I have zero interest in running for president,” he said.

Ossoff was in Los Angeles last month for a series of fundraisers, including a joint event with James Talarico, the Texas state senator running for U.S. Senate against Republican Attorney General Ken Paxton.
