Coronation Street's Vicky Myers pays tribute to co-stars and fans as she wins big at Inside Soap Awards

Coronation Street enjoyed a lot of success at the Inside Soap Awards last night, scooping up nine accolades across the board, including Best Soap.

Vicky Myers remained popular among viewers, who voted her Best Actress for the second year running.

While accepting the award for her role as Lisa Connor-Swain, Myers said she was humbled to be recognised once again. She praised her fellow nominees, Corrie co-stars and, of course, the fans "who made this happen".

"This is really something special. Congratulations to all the other nominees, you are incredible. You really, really are, so this is very humbling to achieve this and be recognised this year," she began.

The star went on to claim that "you're only as good as the people that you work with", and gave a shoutout to her on-screen daughter Sydney Martin, who plays Betsy Swain.

"She is the most incredible young actress and she has shown that in our recent storyline. Syd, you make it easy, so thank you, because you have contributed to this," Myers said.

She then thanked the rest of her on-screen family, Ryan Prescott, who plays Ryan Connor, and Alison King, who plays her wife Carla Connor-Swain.

"[King] is celebrating her 20th year on this iconic show, which is a phenomenal achievement," Myers pointed out. "She makes every day hilarious and a joy and she teaches everybody so much."

King and Myers also won the Best Partnership award that evening, for the second year in a row. Their characters – aka Swarla – tied the knot this spring, after a tumultuous engagement.

Coronation Street airs on weeknights at 8.30pm on ITV1 and streams on ITVX.
