Il Papa ha scritto un messaggio di solidarietà al parroco di Gaza, padre Gabriel Romanelli, per l'ennesimo raid in cui sono morte anche due fedeli cristiane. A renderlo noto è stato lo stesso Romanelli. "Buongiorno, padre Gabriel. Da quando ho appreso la dolorosa notizia della morte di Maysa e Mary, prego Dio per loro, per le loro famiglie e per l'intera comunità di Gaza. Fino a quando, Signore? Grazie per l'accompagnamento alla parrocchia e a tante persone che desiderano vivere in pace. Benedizioni, un abbraccio affettuoso". Questo il messaggio di Papa Leone XIV reso noto dallo stesso missionario argentino.
