India will have four representatives in the singles quarterfinals at the Hylo Open 2026 in Saarbrücken, Germany, on Friday, October 30. Double Olympic medallist P. V. Sindhu, Lakshya Sen, Anmol Kharb and Unnati Hooda will look to secure places in the semifinals of the BWF World Tour Super 500 tournament.
Sindhu, the second seed, has looked particularly impressive. After opening her campaign with a 21-10, 21-10 win over Prakriti Bharath, she swept past Indonesia’s Rosy Oktavia Pancasari 21-9, 21-6 in just 26 minutes. She faces Denmark’s Amalie Schulz, who defeated Bulgaria’s Kaloyana Nalbantova in straight games, for a semifinal berth.
Lakshya, the seventh seed, also progressed after beating compatriot Kiran George 21-15, 18-21, 21-12 in a 54-minute Round of 16 encounter. He had earlier recovered from a game down to beat Finland’s Joakim Oldorff. His quarterfinal opponent is Kalle Koljonen, also of Finland.
India is guaranteed a women’s singles semifinalist as Unnati Hooda and Anmol Kharb face each other in an all-Indian quarterfinal. Unnati defeated Denmark’s Frederikke Østergaard 21-11, 21-19, while Anmol produced a fighting performance to beat third seed Line Christophersen 11-21, 21-18, 25-23.
