Tensorrent raises $1.5B Series E funding round at $6.2B valuation

Ignatiev
Artificial intelligence chip startup Tensorrent announced on Monday that it has raised a $1.5B Series E funding round at a $6.2B valuation.
Tensorrent said the round was led by Trace Capital and Innovation X and included new investors such as Agostinelli Group, ARK Invest, Cadence Ventures, Morgan Stanley (MS), Sandisk (SNDK), Fidelity Management & Research Company, and others. Tensorrent said it will use the money to deploy its Galaxy servers at scale, continue serving open-weight models across large language models, and advance the AI and CPU intellectual property it licenses to customers.
“We built one architecture and sell it at every size,” said Tensorrent CEO Jim Keller in a statement. “The future of compute is open, scalable, and owned by the people building on it. Our investors believe in that model too, and we appreciate their support.”
Earlier this year, Tensorrent was the subject of acquisition rumors, with media reports suggesting Intel (INTC) and Qualcomm (QCOM) were interested in acquiring the company. In June, Tensorrent's Keller said the AI chip startup had not been in talks with Qualcomm about a possible acquisition.
