President John Dramani Mahama has reaffirmed his commitment to protecting Ghana’s national interest, promoting resource-driven economic development and advancing the ideals of Pan-Africanism.

He made the remarks during an engagement with members of the Ghanaian community in Moscow, Russia, where he reflected on the legacy of Ghana’s first President, Osagyefo Dr Kwame Nkrumah, and his vision for African unity.

President Mahama said he considered himself part of the generation of African leaders envisioned by Dr Nkrumah to carry forward his Pan-Africanist ideals and work towards the continent’s progress.

He reiterated that Ghana’s natural resources must be managed in a manner that delivers meaningful benefits to its people, stressing the importance of placing the country’s national interest at the centre of its development agenda.

The President also underscored the importance of African unity, noting that Pan-Africanism would remain a central pillar of his vision and leadership
